The first LWI was done on the UK continental shelf in April 2005, from Island Frontier for Chevron on Strathspey. Since then more than 200 well interventions have been done for a variety of customers both on UKCS and NCS year-round in harsh environment, also including West of Shetlands and Haltenbanken area.
All LWI activity is operated from the vessels Island Frontier, Island Wellserver and Island Constructor. Additionally, subsea construction work is being done utilizing various Island Offshore vessels. IOSS has been developing the company work scope, now also including such activities as Tree on Wire installations with batch settings, Top hole drilling with application of CAN technology, trenching and Plug and Abandonment (P&A).
Down hole technology
The objective has always to be in the forefront of technology in order to widen the work scope and improve vessel utilization. Therefore, also improved down hole technology has been emphasized to be able to offer a variety of solutions to customers.
Locations and staff
IOSS main office is located on Forus outside Stavanger, with a branch office in Aberdeen handling all activities on the UKCS. The company is employing approximately 50 persons onshore.
